Rajouri: In a press statement issued here Youth Activist Aquib Wani said that due to extensive security checkups of vehicles and commuters near Poshana checkpoint commuters are suffering extremely which in return is discouraging people to travel via historic Mughal Road. Aquib said that “Majority of commuters who travel through Mughal Road include students, patients, tribals, employees and toursits from outside J&K who remain stranded near Poshana from dusk to dawn and vice-versa”.
He further said that hundreds of students are having B.Ed exam, Entrance exams of various universities whose centres are in Srinagar and because of these prolonged checkups aspirants are unable to reach the venue on time and patients who have to visit SKIMS, SMGH hospitals are forced to bear the pain and torture unnecessarily.
“Nowhere in the state or country such long security checkups are done and it seems that traveling on Mughal Road is discouraged deliberately by forces who don’t wish to see the region prospering due to the advantages of Mughal Road” he added
Aquib Wani appealed political leadership of Pir Panjal to take up the issue with State Administration so that traveling through the road could be made hassle free.
